Dracula meets an incredible end(and i love my wife)

Sunday, November 8, 2009  –  Category: Art, News

WOW! WOW! WOW! all I can say is WOW.  That was like so fast, it’s like the show was there, and then it vanished in a blink. While performing Dracula was an amazing experience it didn’t just happen over night, the real joy has been in the creative process that ultimately ended in the piece we call Dracula.  It still baffles me how something can seem to be so far in the future and the next moment it’s right in front of your nose.  I mean seriously it all felt like a whirlwind, like we were constantly struggling to make the most of what little time we had.  Not just with rehearsals but also with each individual in their personal lives as well, struggling to find balance.

One thing I have come to realize about all this is that what we started with in June at Geva Theater’s What’s Nextfestival, and what we ended with today are two completely different works.  This was an amazing metamorphosis to be a part of.  with a constant stream of creative ideas coming from not just one person but all the people involved, I found myself in awe of the creative process as a whole.  I remember getting shivers down’ my spine hearing an explanation in detail of how a specific scenes were going to look and then the pleasure of seeing(or being part of) the final product.  the final show was for sure the best one.  all cues were on point and so was the performance.  In all I have come out of this experience with a smile on my face, and most of all I thank God for giving me the grace to pull through this trying time, and also for the opportunity.

The hardest thing about this whole experience has been the past few months without my lovely wife.  After going through the intensity of a PADTS in 2005 and surviving many tours with All Access on my own.  I came to the assumption that all would be the same.  I assumed that if i focused on my work a few months would fly by and it would feel as though she simply took a different route to Oregon.  Although the performing side of things flew by, I have never felt so lost and lonely in my entire life.   Heidi, you have changed me, you’ve spoiled me for the better.  when you read this I hope that you catch a glimpse of the depth of affection, admiration and just plain love I have for you.  I never want to go home to nothing but your cat and a litter box to tend to ever, ever, ever again!!  Seriously though not only are you the love of my life but it seems that there is a very close tie between you and my sanity.  seriously I can’t think strait when you’re not around. WOW, it’s getting late i need to wind this down so that i can call you…  well if anyone didn’t get the point… I LOVE MY WIFE!! now I am gonna call her and then go to bed. Oregon here I come(11 days left)

Much love from Rochester,

Isaac
